At the end of this module, learners should be able to:

  1. Have a deeper understanding of the theories and principles associated with quality, quality management and improvement, and patient safety.
  2. Apply these theories, principles, and evidence-based tools to current quality and safety challenges.
  3. Have the ability to contribute to the development of quality initiatives, including quality improvement plans.
  4. Be familiar with the legislation related to Quality in Ontario and the specific accountabilities of organizations and health professionals.
  5. Be aware of the various resources and supports available to facilitate quality improvement and safety in health care.
