It takes time for a new team to become productive, and there are several stages a team needs to work through to become a high performing team. Bruce Tuckman’s model of team development describes these stages. Being aware of the strategies and tools that your team can use to successfully move through these stages can help your team better manage situations and reach productivity faster.

Ice Breakers for Team Bonding
Starting a new team project? Consider doing an ice breaker activity at your first meeting, here are some examples:
- Two truths and a lie/dream – give two true statements and one that is either a lie or a dream statement, and ask your teammates to guess which is the lie/dream statement.
- Find five things in common but nothing obvious such as same hair colour or program of study.
- What five things would you take with you if you knew you might get stranded on a deserted island.
