Definition: The value refers to how much something is worth [5].

Variable

Definition: A variable is a symbol used to represent an unknown    number or quantity.

It is an example of algebraic expressions. Five times x square, minus two times y, plus twelve. Number five and two are coefficient. Letter x and y are variables. And number twelve is constant.

Vertical

Definition: A vertical line is at right angles to the horizon. It extends up and down without extending left and right. It is also perpendicular to the horizon [1].

Vertices

Definition: Vertex is the singular form of vertices. A vertex is where two or more rays meet to form a corner point [2].

Examples

  • A cube has eight vertices.
  • A triangular pyramid has four vertices.
  • A cone has one vertex.
