  • The B.C. post-secondary community is invited to complete a survey about print-on-demand services for open textbooks. This information will be used to complete the Print-on-Demand Guide, about creating printed, bound copies of open textbooks in the  B.C. Open Textbook Collection. This guide is an open creation, defined as an in-progress work, public during development.

In light of the financial constraints being faced by B.C.’s post-secondary institutions during the current pandemic, BCcampus has decided to remove the requirement that applicants to the Open Education Foundation Grant for Institutions and the Sustainability Grant for Institutions must secure matching funds from their institutions equal to the grant total.

  • Open Langara is offering three $1,500 grants to faculty who are interested in adapting or creating open educational resources (OER) or incorporating open educational practices (OEP) into their teaching. Learn more.
  • The Program for Open Scholarship and Education (POSE) is a new one-year flexible and blended program jointly presented by the UBC Open Working Group, the Centre for Teaching, Learning and Technology and UBC Library. The program will help you develop foundational knowledge of Open Scholarship, Open Education and Open Research. Learn more about POSE here.
  • In addition to providing the top five adopting institutions by number of open textbook adoptions, statistics now also include the top five adopting institutions by student savings. See them here.
